Alutiiqs and Aleuts from the Aleutian Islands and Kodiak hunted and fished in their Baidarkas. They carried from one to three men and were amazingly seaworthy. They faced the open sea in those skin covered kayaks wearing their gut/made from seal intestines, rain gear. This depicts three hunters out fishing and hunting on a quiet, misty bay.

Her paintings that are inspired by her years in Homer, Kodiak, and Dutch Harbor and her family's lineage in the Alaskan commercial fishing industry. Her Aleut (Unangan) heritage and her love for history are the foundation for her Native work.
